Download this photo by:
  • RIGHT MOUSECLICKING it
  • Choose "Save Picture As"

  • Open up the image in Photoshop and create a NEW LAYER named "Touch Ups"
Remain on this layer for all the steps below

(This is REALLY important in order to NOT damage the original image underneath)

You're going to apply "digtal makeup" to the "Before" image on the left.

The image on the right has been EXTENSIVELY touched up to show what CAN be done with the right tools and skills

Choose the CLONE STAMP tool from the left toolbar, and choose the following settings along the top:
  • "Soft" brush about 21 pixels in size
  • "Aligned" should be checked on
  • "Sample All Layers" MUST be checked on.

You're now ready to begin touch ups. Zoom in to 200% on the model's chin to begin.

To use the clone stamp tool:
  • Hold down the ALT key and click on some unblemished skin to the side of the first "pimple"
  • Let go of the ALT key and click on the "pimple"

A "Patch" will be painted on the "Touch Ups" layer.

Continue applying "patches" to the rest of the moles and blemishes on the model's face

Try turning off the eyeball on the "Touch Ups" layer to see the before and after.

EXERCISE:
  • Grab a copy of the "Police Car" photo on the HANDOUTS - SPECIAL DELIVERY folder
  • Use your new CLONE STAMP tool skills to digitally "erase" the signs on the front lawn CONVINCINGLY (Take your time, use your best judgement)
  • If you're done early you can also have a couple of our students sit on the hood of the police car using your "selection" skills from previous classes
  • HAND IN a JPG of your final products, appropriately named to the appropriate HANDINS folder
